Alan Stirt
Al Stirt, a self-taught wood turner from northern Vermont, has developed a reputation for quality that has put his work in the Smithsonian Institution and the White House. His salad bowls, available at Vermont Artisan Designs, are so finely finished that you may want to just hold them. Black cherry, white ash and butternut are just a few of the woods he uses in transforming one style of beauty into another.
